Paella - Salamanca, Spain
It rains here a lot. Perhaps 80% of the time Ive been here, we've had rain. And honestly... its not been such a bad thing. Weather change can be nice. Though I do like it hot sometimes. I absolutely thrive in hot tropical weather.
In Los Angeles people generally opt to stay inside if there is any hint of rain. In Spain, like in Chicago, my home state, people actually still exist and go out, even if its raining.
My new companions and I have managed to go out almost every day and/or night this week regardless of the rainfall. Today it was to a museum with some lesser known artists then to tapas and coffee. Yesterday it was to a very beautiful church where we climbed to the top and had a perfect view of the city and beyond and later in the evening a night filled with Tapas, Paella, Sangria, dancing and shots of various different liquors I can no longer remember. The day before, pub trivia, conversation and drinks. All the while it was raining. And I loved it. If it were not as cold as it has been, and if I had not suffered from the flu earlier, one might have found me prancing around sans umbrella and jumping in puddles like a little kid enjoying every bit of it.
