Faces of Sunset

A couple of years ago I was approached with my partner at the time and asked to participate in a project - Patrick, this incredible photographer, was trying to put together a coffee book table called the Faces of Sunset. Back then the project was very low budget if it even had a budget, I'm not sure, but we both thought it was a incredible idea. Patrick's idea was to find people on Sunset in various states of existence and photograph them on that street - thus the name.

Well, in the last couple of years, this project has exploded and taken a huge turn for the positive. He's managed to get beautiful photos of the LAPD, LAFD, the mayor, celebs, in addition to non-celeb types who are just interesting people with stories to tell. I wanted to let folks know about it first of all because Patrick's pretty much a great being who is living his dream and it deserves much applause and secondly... just in case we happen to be in it.

I grabbed a couple of girls this past Thursday and went down to the gallery which was located in City Hall - downtown Los Angeles. Ate some sushi, sipped on some drinks, said hello to the artist, marveled at the success of his project and just had some good old fashioned fun. Ladies night.

So cross your fingers as it'd be great if we did make it into the book. Regardless of the past, I 100% support the project.

Lately for me, things have been unfolding in a crazy positive way. I just found out I'm going to be in three other coffee table books and another artist exhibit. The latest one is from a fellow Burner Photographer who's doing a book on the outfits of Burning Man so maybe looking what some deem as exotic has it's advantages. He's also going to have a exhibit featured at the Reno Art Museum, more details later but I'll be taking a road trip to see that display... Never been in an exhibit before. The other projects I'm involved in are abstract nudes.

Anyways if you have a moment - check Patrick's web site out and support him if you can - he's a great guy. www.facesofsunset.com

And if you watch the video you can see a quick milisecond of our photo.
