For the last year and some odd months I've been slowly transforming my eating habits to that of a herbivore rather than a carnivore. It's been a interesting journey and it seems to be getting easier and easier as more and more people that I choose to surround myself with are veggies. Not that I have a problem with meat nor people who eat meat, hell I LOVE meat - it's been a struggle for me most defn. For a long time I hadn't given up eating meat completely and still kept it in my diet at least once ever other week. But for the last month... I can honestly say that I haven't had any at all and it's kind of a trip. I do get cravings sometimes, the smell of bacon can send me over the edge, and whenver I pass a Zankou sign my mouth waters. BUT with all the soy supplement and/or tofu meat replicas... it's gotten to be a little easier. I've been discovering foods that are absolutely incredible and meatless while dining at places like California Vegan (I'm NOT a vegan btw, I love cheese and eggs too damn much), Indian, Thai and Mediterrian joints (and perhaps Ethopian??), have found a new love for certain veggies and a few odds and ends....
Why have I chosen this pathway? I'm not sure. Something new I suppose. It's not a spiritual pathway for me, I've found spirituality in fire, which has been incredible. It's not a save the animals thing either. Maybe it's just a time for another change for me kind of a thing as I'm always constantly evolving. A path I'm willing to follow for a moment or two to see where it leads me. Will it last? Not sure but possibly. But so far... So very very good.
